Fresh and glowing skin makes you stand out in the crowd. Dry Skin, itchy and dull skin is a major turn-off for everyone. The following are some handy tips to keep your skin fresh
Hot showers must be avoided.
After a long tiring day, a hot shower surely feels great but is that beneficial for your dry skin? Hot showers cut down the essential oils which are already present in your skin. Lukewarm water serves the purpose and not only you but your skin feels soft. Staying under the shower for a long time increases the chances to make your skin dry. Therefore, a quick shower with lukewarm water is enough.
Moisturize
Many people use lotions to make their skin supple. Switch to creams and oils as the ingredients in them work in favor of making your skin soft and fresh. Dimethicone, hyaluronic acid, mineral oils, fish oils (Omega 3) and petroleum jelly very promptly trap moisture. The best time to moisturize skin is when you take a bath. As soon as you take a bath to avoid rubbing your skin with a towel instead of pat your skin to dry the excess water and moisturize within 3-4 minutes of bathing.
Exfoliate
A layer of dry skin cells layers up on face which gives your skin dull and unhealthy appearance. To get rid of the unwanted layers of dry cells you must exfoliate your skin once or twice a week. Those people who have sensitive skin should prefer doing it once every week. Use a high-quality face scrub for exfoliation. After use, note the response of your skin. If your skin does not show any discomfort hen continue using it. Make sure you don’t over-exfoliate.
Invest in a humidifier.
You are making sure to keep your skin hydrated but repeatedly moisturizing your skin might not be enough. Dry skin can become very tacky sometimes. Therefore, use a humidifier at your workplace and home. Instead of continuously worrying about the dry scratches on your skin invest in a humidifier. A humidifier will keep the air around you hydrated all the time.
Spray facial mist.
Moisturizing lotions, oils, creams, and a humidifier are saviors, we agree on that. But what about the times when you are traveling or when you forget to moisturize? Keep a facial mist with you in your bag. No matter what time of day is or where you are, you can simply spray it on your face and let it do its job.
Be careful with makeup
Dry, oily or mixed, irrespective of skin type you want to apply makeup and add glamour to yourself. Although makeup is important for your appearance applying it properly is even more important for the health of your skin. Make sure you know how to give proper coverage to your skin without harming it.
Protection from sun
Your dry skin can become worse when exposed directly to the sun. Always keep sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin against harmful rays. Reapply it after swimming or sweating.
